NEWS

Guillaume Bottazzi has created about 100 works of art in much-frequented spaces. They are part of a global reflection drawing together a number of different parameters, especially contextual ones. His environmental works involve specific contingencies; they relate to a three-dimensional approach and resonate with a set of parameters in order to broaden the scope of the work.

The materials are durable, able to resist the vicissitudes of time, antisocial behaviour, the sun’s rays, wind, etc…
The reputation of the coordinated teams, but also of the installers, craftsmen and technicians, is well established as regards their excellence.

Grand Paris, enamels on glass, September 2021

This quadriptych makes spaces poetic and puts the human being at the heart of our concerns. Life-size sketches were used as a pattern before laying down the powder composed of different minerals in suspension on the glass. This project is the result of a collaboration with the architectural firm RVA.

Enamel is a powdered natural material composed of different minerals, such as silica, feldspar, kaolin, metal oxides, titanium, copper carbonate, cobalt, iron oxide, manganese, tin and others. The pigments are deposited on the glass, suspended in a volatile oil. It is when the glass is tempered that the fusion with the enamels takes place.

Tempering consists of bringing the glass to a high temperature by passing it through a furnace, until it reaches a temperature close to its softening point: between 550 and 700° C, depending on its composition. The surface of the glass is then rapidly cooled by immersing it in a low temperature bath.

Once tempered, the glass is usually laminated. Unlike print on glass, enamels are extremely durable and are highly resistant to UV-ray, scratching and chemical agents.

Grand Paris, oil on canvas, 9,60 meters long, delivery 2022

At a height of 5 metres an oil on linen canvas measuring 10 meters in length is being created opposite a bay window. The architect, Jean-Baptiste Pietri, has designed a box that will allow the work to be embedded and protected by anti-reflective glass.

For this project, the artist is adopting a light touch that resonates with the site. The painting will be treated to compensate for changes in temperature and the fixings will be inaccessible.

This creation aims to take us into an unreal world that modifies our perception of the environment. It seeks to nourish the passer-by by offering a form of unreality and making him dream. It creates a dreamlike space that evolves and brings the joy of dwelling to a place of living.
