EN : Guillaume Bottazzi, pioneer of neuro-aesthetics, has just unveiled his Maison de Création in Brussels, nestled in a townhouse listed as one of the city’s heritage sites. Comparable to a Maison de Haute Couture, this exceptional residence is adorned with unique works of art, specially designed for the site by the artist. Located close to the Horta Museum, the Maison Hannon and the Marcel Broodthaers Foundation, the Maison is part of a neighborhood brimming with architectural treasures.

The French artist, who set up his studio in Belgium over ten years ago, is renowned for his numerous heritage commissions in Europe and Asia. With over a hundred perennial works to his credit, Guillaume Bottazzi transforms public and private spaces with poetic creations that soften places and positively influence behavior. His environmental works, made from natural, sustainable materials, are part of an artistic approach focused on well-being and sustainability.

Guillaume Bottazzi is reviving a tradition in which architects, decorators, craftsmen and visual artists worked hand in hand to sublimate living spaces. His Maison de Création is the perfect illustration. Each room in this Beaux-Arts-style mansion designed by Paul Picquet is conceived as a sensory immersion. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a monumental work of enamel on stapled glass, setting the tone for a timeless visit.

Inside, the materials used illustrate the artist’s commitment to sustainable aesthetics: lacquered wood, linen, ceramics, marble, low-energy LEDs, stainless steel and galvanized steel. In each room, luminous works in enamel on tempered and laminated glass, illuminated by LEDs, create atmospheres conducive to serenity or creativity.

Guillaume Bottazzi’s neuro-aesthetic approach is not limited to visual aesthetics. His often monumental works activate areas of the brain associated with desire, love or inner peace. The red piece in Maison, for example, is designed to stimulate social interaction by increasing heart rate, while the blue piece promotes concentration and creativity.

To share this immersive artistic experience, Guillaume Bottazzi will be opening his Maison de Création to the public from time to time, on open days which must be booked in advance. These visits will allow visitors to go behind the scenes of his work and admire his works in their natural environment, a setting where art, architecture and design harmonize.
